Meet Aine Larkin, a trailblazing figure in the field of cosmetic medicine, and the proud winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural Northern Ireland Cosmetic Medicine Awards. As the clinical director of two award-winning clinics in Northern Ireland, Aine leads a team of 23 dedicated staff members. Her fervent commitment lies in elevating education and training standards within the clinical aesthetic sector to enhance patient safety and public protection.
A passionate brand ambassador for a Global Pharma Company, Aine is deeply involved in teaching and mentoring medical and healthcare practitioners in both basic and advanced injectables. Her mentorship extends to prescribing qualifications, further fostering professional growth in the industry.
Aine's expertise extends beyond her clinics, as she serves as a technical expert advisor for an OFQUAL awarding body and takes on roles in internal verification and external quality assurance. Her dedication to the field is evident through her position as a regional lead nurse for the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN) and her full membership with the Joint Council Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP). A pioneer in the field, Amanda Cameron spent more than three decades working in the medical aesthetics sector in the UK and Europe. She began as a nurse and advanced to become the UK's top nurse injector trainer for dermal fillers. Later, after earning an MBA, she branched out into sales, marketing, and management. Notably, she brought Sculptra to Europe and worked with Collagen Corporation to launch dermal fillers on the market. Amanda's influence was seen throughout the industry as she held senior positions in illustrious businesses and managed new companies' European operations. She organised the first Aesthetic Awards and helped to create the clinical schedule for the ACE conference as the previous consultant editor of the Aesthetics Journal. She co-founded 5 Squirrels Ltd in 2014, and she left the organisation in 2021. Presently, Amanda is humbled and honoured to host the second NI Cosmetic Medicine Awards. She recognises the work that goes into planning such an event and recognises its importance to all of the participants. She is looking forward to the December 2nd celebration with the winners and runners-up.
